# ansys-maxwell-3d ## Summary + **Module Name:** maxwell + **Support Level:** Secondary Support + **Software Access Level:** Limited Licenses + **Home Page:** [http://www.ansys.com/Products/Simulation+Technology/Electronics/Electromechanical/ANSYS+Maxwell](http://www.ansys.com/Products/Simulation+Technology/Electronics/Electromechanical/ANSYS+Maxwell) ## Software Description Starting from version 20.1, Maxwell is bundled with ANSYS as part of \'ANSYS Electromagnetics Desktop\'. Ansoft Maxwell 3D Field Simulator uses electromagnetic field simulation to accurately predict product performance from physical design information. In addition to Ansoft Maxwell 3D, the Ansoft package contains the Ansoft Optimetric, Maxwell 2D and the Schematic Capture. ## General Linux To load this module for use in a Linux environment, you can run the command: module load maxwell Depending on where you are working, there may be more than one version of maxwell available. To see which modules are available for loading you can run: module avail maxwell ## Citrix To run this software under Windows, connect using instruction provided in our [Windows systems page](https://www.msi.umn.edu/support/citrix/overview) .  Once logged in, navigate to Start > All Programs > ANSYS Electromagnetics > Maxwell $VERSION> Windows-64 bit > Maxwell $VERSION (64-bit) \$VERSION is the version number of the Ansoft installation. Maxwell is not able to use the temp space it defaults to in users\' home directories. MSI cannot change this default. Set your Maxwell temp folder to scratch space when you start Maxwell.
