# huygens ## Summary + **Module Name:** huygens + **Support Level:** Secondary Support + **Software Access Level:** Open Access + **Home Page:** [https://svi.nl/HomePage](https://svi.nl/HomePage) ## Software Description The Huygens System is an image processing software package specifically designed to facilitate the restoration of microscopic images. It provides many arithmetic operations on image types ranging from simple 2D images of unsigned bytes to multi-parameter, 3D time series of complex values. This functionality forms the basis for the more advanced features of the Huygens System aimed at image restoration, i.e., the \`reconstruction\' of the object that gave rise to the actual recorded image. The Huygens System shows these images in a transparent way and allows inspection, processing and restoration in a straightforward manner. The Huygens System- Batch version is a compute engine; it does not display any images. ## General Linux To run this software in a Linux environment run the commands (for interactive use of huygens, if less memory is needed then it may be specified on the command line): ssh -X agate srun -p msismall --nodes=1 --ntasks=20 --mem=200gb --time=1:00:00 --x11 --pty bash module load huygens huygenspro To run a huygens script named, \'script.tcl\', type: huscript -noTk scriptfile.tcl You can find more documentation in the Scientific Volume Imaging web page - [SVI homepage](http://www.svi.nl/) page with product information - [SVI-wiki](http://support.svi.nl/wiki) many articles about deconvolution, visualization and analysis of 2D, 3D and 4D microscopic images. - [Deconvolution, how does it work?](http://support.svi.nl/wiki/HuygensDeconvolution) - [Volume visualization in Huygens](http://support.svi.nl/wiki/VolumeVisualization) - [Interactive analysis in Huygens](http://support.svi.nl/wiki/InteractiveAnalysis)
