Software Description

Velvet is a software for De Novo Short Read Assembly Using De Bruijn Graphs.It can be used for Solexa and 454 sequencing data assembly.

General Linux

To load this software in a Linux environment run the command(s):

module load velvet

Package velvet contains two programs:

velveth

and

velvetg

Velveth is the program that creates hash tables that will be used by

velvetg

to assemble the sequences. To run this software run the command(s):

velveth

or

velvetg
