Local Scratch

Path:

/tmp

Available on:

all compute nodes

Default Quota:

1.5T

  • This space is scratch space local to each compute node and can be requested when launching a job as follows:

    • use the --tmp <size> when running the job to request this resource

    • A minimum of 2G must be requested per node

  • The limit here is based on the size of the local disk. Currently up to 1.5T can be requested per node

  • Data in /tmp will be erased after the job ends, so files need to be saved to a permanent location

  • If local scratch is not requested, /tmp will still exist but be backed by tmpfs instead of the local disk
